Connection Statistics
Connection
Statistics relating to the connection to the data feed.
Duration
The time elapsed since a connection was established to the data feed.
Bytes received
The number of bytes received on the data feed.
Bad checksum
The number of packets received with a bad checksum. Only applies to data feeds that checksum their packets, which at the time of writing is only the SBS-3.
Throughput
The average number of kilobytes received per second.
BaseStation
Statistics relating to feeds of Port 30003 (aka Kinetic) format data.
Messages received
The number of BaseStation messages received.
Badly formatted
The number of BaseStation messages that deviated so far from the standard that they couldn't be used.
Mode-S
Statistics relating to the Mode-S messages seen on a feed of raw data.
Messages received
The number of Mode-S messages received.
No ADS-B payload
The number of Mode-S messages seen that were not DF17, DF18/CF0, DF18/CF6 or DF19/AF0.
Short frame
The number of 7 byte Mode-S messages seen.
Unusable
The number of 7 byte Mode-S messages for ICAOs that were not preceeded by at least one message with a PI of 0 or, if the feature is being used, held an ICAO24 that was not seen enough times over a short duration to be considered valid. It is usual to have a reasonably high number of these but an excessively high value may indicate a poor signal to noise ratio.
Long frame
The number of 14 byte Mode-S messages seen.
PI present
The number of Mode-S messages seen that carry the Parity Interrogator field.
Bad parity PI
The number of Mode-S messages carrying a PI field that indicated that the message was corrupt. For SBS-3 users this will usually be zero because the receiver will not (by default) pass on corrupt messages. For other users it is not unusual to see some corrupt messages but an excessively high value may indicate a poor signal to noise ratio.
DF / Count
The count of messages seen for each Mode-S Downlink Format type.
ADS-B
Statistics relating to the ADS-B messages seen on a feed of raw data.
Messages received
The number of ADS-B messages received.
ADS-B rejected
The number of ADS-B messages rejected due to configuration settings (at the time of writing this will be the number of DF19/AF0 messages seen as these are the only ones that you can reject through the configuration).
Speed checks exceeded
The number of ADS-B position messages rejected because the resolved position could only be reached if the vehicle was travelling unreasonably quickly.
Position resets
The number of ADS-B position messages that indicated that the initial fix established for a vehicle was wrong and so triggered a reset of the vehicle's position.
Positions out of range
The number of ADS-B position messages that were rejected because they resolved to a location that lies outside the range of the receiver.
Type / Count
The count of messages seen for each Mode-S message type.
Format / Count
The count of messages seen for each Mode-S message format.
